| Just to make sure, I'm still alive. I got a full-time software engineering job with DRS Technologies. Lots of stuff happened between here and there...haven't really have the time to do a real update. But I'm doing well. :)

| I know it's been like a very long time since I've updated.
Happy Easter ya'll.
Jesus Christ is Risen!! O Happy Fault, thou hast won for us a Redeemer Great!

| I know it's been a while since I've last update, and the first news I have is a goodbye...

So for a quarter century, this sturdy Mercedes 240D had stayed with my family. 25 years! And it will still run, just need a little fix on the electrical system and perhaps an upgraded A/C unit. But the cost of repair is way to high for me....and I've decided to give it away to charity for a better cause. I donated it to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She will be auctioned off, the first Saturday this month in Austin.

| I know the photos were suppose to be up like 2 weeks ago, but I'm still kinda simmering in all the moving back and getting ready for school...and little did I know that I'll have a paper due the first week of class...well, that is done and I've been surfing and decided to give an update.
on a totally unrelated issue...
well, something to think about...
claim: Jesus never existed because there was no historical record of him. i.e. "Unlike the
mythical Jesus Christ, we know what Caesar looked like and we
have a complete history of his life. In turn, general, orator,
historian, statesman and lawgiver. We
have words written by Caesar himself and words written by both
his friends and his enemies. Artifacts confirm his life and death,
as do his successors. Caesar established a style of government – and
a calendar – which endured for centuries." (http://www.jesusneverexisted.com/exist.html)
well, if that is the case then only those that have left a dent in history will ever truly exist -- those that lived on the skulls of many that they've stepped on to claim the social and era ladder. In fact, it is entirely possible for a society to construct some imaginary figures to exist simply by making random statues and making mentions of these `figures' every once in a while -- and sure enough if they survive couple centuries -- people will think these people actually existed!
So how do we know if so-and-so existed? by the standard given in the claim, we ourselves might not even exist since I could not certainly find any statues, or other things as such as governments and calendar in our stead...am I non-existent? Further more, does that mean we should revere Caesar Julius instead?
By far no...just because someone is well noted in history books doesn't make them worthy of adoration. Why is it that Jesus is indeed worthy of my believe? And how do we know he existed? By the memories of those that had gone before us.
Example: How did you know your great-grandmother existed? Because you have heard of stories from your grandparents. Well, simple as that, we know historical figures like Caesar or Napoleon existed because people remembered them and passed on stories of these people -- that's how history came to be. Some will be praised and missed -- and pictures, statues, coins, or stamps will be commissioned after them, whilst others will rest quietly inside the memories of their loved ones and passed on that way.
And asking people to come up with some sort of "evidence" to proof that their great-grandmother indeed exists is a pretty rude thing to do...try doing that walking up to any random person on the street...
And then there's the whole accomplishment things -- Jesus came to show us that there's life after death -- beyond this world and that His kingdom is not of this world....and so let me ask this question...is it indeed necessary for Jesus to leave behind huge monuments and what-not to commemorate himself? Well, personally, I wouldn't mind, that would have been cool and awesome, 'cause I can just point to it every time someone questions whether Jesus existed or whether God is here...and that would totally undermine the idea of free will -- because any reasonable person would have to logically conclude that Jesus existed.
Again, to recap, Jesus existed because by the memories of the Church, we recall his teachings, his ministry, and his person -- much similarly we recall and remember our loved ones. And to deny the memories of the Church, and likewise the memories of our loved ones is in itself rude and illogical, just because they did not have photography or computer to do all the memory does not mean a person did not exist. Similarly, just because a person isn't accomplished in the history books doesn't mean that person did not exist. Finally, I believe in Jesus, the holy catholic Church and its teachings because I believe in the memories of the Church, the early fathers, and those that followed in their stead -- and I believe of my own free will -- not because some statue proved it so, nor some history book, or some holy text, those things are only secondary although having them does help. To argue otherwise (i.e. only historical evidence validates existence) is illogical at best if not rude and suspicious to begin with.
Anyways, I was looking over a listserv and this link showed up on the bottom...I just had to see what they have to say...and well, this is my own answer to a small part of its argument. If I have more time I'll come back and try to see if I have answers to some of the other arguments.
